Do you want to do the right thing
but don’t have transportation to do it?
Every Wednesday of every month our Neuter Scooter will come to a specified location to pick up your pet and take them back to clinic to be spayed or neutered and then return them to the same specified location in the afternoon. At no extra charge!!!
This is only for Spaying and Neutering; no other surgeries are available through the Neuter Scooter.

The Process
The Neuter Scooter is a van provided by funding from the PETCO Foundation and is offered as a free public service to transport dogs and cats to the ACT clinic for spay and neuter surgery. Check the calendar link above for the Scooter date and location closest to you and call us to make an appointment.
-
Call 813-250-3900 to make an appointment for the pick-up date and location of your choice
-
When you make your appointment, our staff member will provide you with an estimate of the drop-off and pick-up time.
-
Have your dog on a leash or your cat in a carrier. (We are not able to accept cats that are not in carriers.)
-
The DAY BEFORE your scheduled appointment, we will be contacting you to discuss your services, confirm the location of your choice, and the estimated time of our arrival to pick up. The driver will also provide you with the estimated time that you will be able to retrieve your pet.
-
Rabies Vaccine: If your dog or cat is not receiving a rabies vaccine that day, we are required by law to ensure that the rabies vaccine is current. Please bring a current proof of rabies (if applicable) or we will administer and charge you for a rabies vaccine.
-
Heartworm Test (Dogs Only): We require a current Heartworm Test on all dogs 1 year or older. If they are 6 months or older, and not on heartworm prevention, we will test them while at our facility for only $15.00. Heartworm prevention is critical to your dog’s health for the rest of his life.
-
If you need Heart Worm prevention, please tell the driver in the morning and she will deliver it to you with your pet and add the cost of the medication to your overall charges for the day.
-
Your pet will be transported to our clinic at 502 N. Gilchrist Ave, Tampa, FL 33606. We may need to contact you at some point during the day, so please make sure you give us a telephone number where you can be reached during business hours. You may also call us if you wish to check on your pet’s progress.
-
Please meet the Neuter Scooter at the confirmed time at your scheduled location in the morning.
-
You will retrieve your pet at the same location later that same day. The driver will let you know what time you will meet.
-
Fees can be paid by cash or credit when you pick up your pet that evening. You can also call the clinic with your credit card number if you need to have someone else pick up your pet in the afternoon.
