Be the Way Home Plan Approved

Thanks to YOUR Support and Our "Sea of Green" Shirts, Commission Approves "Be the Way Home Plan."

Now we need your continued support to help make the commission's new plan a reality

commission meetingACT, The Humane Society and countless other organizations have been trying for years to persuade Hillsborough County Animal Services to reduce the euthanasia rate and develop no-kill options to save the lives of hundreds of dogs and cats every month.

On May 1, 2013, our prayers were answered when the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners passed "Be the Way Home.  It's a comprehensive plan that begins the process of saving animals by allowing 2,000 cats per year to be spayed, neutered, vaccinated and returned to their original surroundings. Read the plan here

Because ACT will receive some of these cats (and no county funds), we need your generous support now more than ever to help offset costs.  During our May Days LifeDrive, we ask that you sponsor a cat for $35.  You can sponsor as many as you'd like, but if everyone can sponsor just one, it will go a long way to helping us see Hillsborough County's plan through to fruition!  And as always, THANK YOU for supporting ACT!

"Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You..."

Annual Spay-Ghetti / No Balls Dinner & Auction a Huge Success

There is just not enough room on this page to say thank you as many times as we should to our generous friends and supportors who joined us Saturday evening at the Yuengling Brewery.  It's because of YOU our first fundraiser of the year was a huge Spayghetti Dogsuccess.  And it's because of YOU we're able to continue to do the great work we do at ACT.  Thank you for your kind gifts and bids!

Even our gracious host from Yuengling, Maureen, went away happy--the winner of the Nook tablet!  So happy, it looks like we've been invited back next year!

Special thanks to Talma and her mom for once again WOWing us with their simply delicious pasta  & deserts.  And loving thanks to KT for lasagna that delivered big on flavor.

Finally, we couldn't have made this event possible without the great volunteers that really came through for us tonight.  They were led by Karen, our new Development Manager, who did a record job on pulling together her first solo event.  Go Karen!

We wish you a great Easter!  Thank you for supporting the Animal Coalition of Tampa!
See you at the Neuter-A-Thon and the Scavenger Hunt with the Krewe of Pair O' Dice in April!

ACT Celebrates Grand Opening of New Clinic

Last year, in a 3,000 square foot building, we spayed and neutered nearly 12,000 animals, saw at least 30,000 more for basic wellness advice and vaccines, and performed dozens of life-saving surgeries sent to us by other veterinarians and friends.  Our clients waited in "lobby tents" in the parking lot while our staff balleted around each other and their four legged charges inside the building.  Phones rang off the hooks and the noise level was extreme.

ACT Grand OpeningIt was amazing that we accomplished so much in
such a small place.  But we truly needed an expansion.

On Thursday, November 15th,
we celebrated the historic
Grand Opening of our new, much larger clinic at 502 N. Gilchrist Avenue.  For everyone who has shared our vision, this dream is as much yours as ours. And finally, the dream has become the reality!

The evening began with a short celebration and comments made by Ian Hallet, Director of Hillsborough County Animal Services, Mike Suarez, City Councilman and Rich Reidy, assistant to County Commissioner Ken Hagan.  One of our best friends, Cynthia Smoot of Fox 13, once again was on hand to cut the ribbon and to report on this important day.  Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and champagne as they toured the new clinic.

With our incredible history, and our new--even more incredible--space, we humbly imagine what we can accomplish now.  But even though we've moved, the bills aren't all paid and we need your help as much as ever.  So special ACT Grand Opening Pledges [ Click Here ],  are still greatly appreciated. They will become part of the solution to help reduce the pet intake in our Hillsborough County shelters, help us achieve our mission of saving lives through the availability of low cost animal health services. Thank You!

Introducing...
ACT's NEW Home!

This Clinic is for YOU
For everyone who waited outside in the heat and the rain.  For everyone who watched as we did our "dance" through the old, cramped facility to get your pet the affordable care it needed.  For all of you who beared with us all these years...ACT's new clinic is for YOU!  And here she is...

New Home of Animal Coalition of Tampa

This incredible new clinic transforms us from a cramped, crowded, 2,800 sq ft facility to a state-of-the-art clinic that will be on par with what you expect from a local animal hospital.  But the best part is, while everything is getting bigger, nothing is changing (except, of course, our location).  We're still ACT, and we're still going to provide the affordable animal health and spay/neuter programs that have made us who we are today.

We're just going to be doing a lot more of them.  ;-)   Of course, getting bigger isn't free.  We still have room naming rights available.  Contact us for more information.
